چکیده

In view of the increasing restrictions for CO2 mitigation, evaluation alternative fuels to ensure sustainability transportation is becoming increasingly important. Since some these alternatives can be refined from renewable sources, they are interesting perspective both: use current power-plants and emission. this sense, natural gas arises as an propellant substitute fossil fuels. Therefore, combining fuel with specific combustion strategies help decrease environmental footprint in broadest sense. paper, possible advantages combination has been conducted. The investigation carried out a port fueled turbocharged spark-ignition engine, using compressed (CNG) passive pre-chamber ignition system. effects CNG properties on have analyzed global impact appraised by means life cycle assessment. Results show that different sources not only reduces emission but also contribute remove existent pollution. addition, increase engine thermal efficiency when concept.

Air Charge Estimation in Turbocharged Spark Ignition Engines

Turbocharged (TC) spark-ignited (SI) engines are popular as they combine high power output with good fuel economy. Furthermore, their emissions can be successfully reduced using a three way catalyst (TWC) provided that the airfuel ratio is precisely controlled. As the air-fuel ratio depends on the precision of the air charge estimate, this thesis is devoted to the systematic improvement of the ...

Unsteady Flow Turbine Performance in Turbocharged Automotive Engines

Turbocharging is becoming a key technology for both Spark Ignition (SI) and diesel automotive engines. As regards gasoline engines, turbocharging can help to reduce CO2 emissions when used in conjunction with other technologies, such as engine downsizing, direct injection and variable valve actuation, all managed on the basis of appropriate control strategies. However, the successful applicatio...

Sliding Mode Idle Speed Ignition Control Strategies for Automotive Engines

In recent years it has become apparent that control system design based on conventional linear transfer function or state-variable feedback suffers from several serious disadvantages including: i) It requires an accurate model, which cannot be attained by current identification procedures ii) The control is not robust to unstructured uncertainties such as additive or multiplicative parameter va...

Multivariable Model Predictive Control Design for Turbocharged Exhaust Gas Recirculation System in Marine Combustion Engines

This work investigates a novel turbocharged EGR system installed on a laboratory marine engine. A problem of recirculation of high and stable portion of exhaust gas in marine engines is addressed. Although conventional EGR systems have been extensively presented in research papers, the setup shown in this paper has not been well described. Therefore, we develop a mean-value model of the system ...
